Introduction
There are so many different things that you have to do if you want to rank on Google. You’ve got to research, build backlinks, turn links, optimize pages for the keywords you find, write content, and much more. Doing it all at once can be exhausting and hard to manage on your own. Thankfully, there are many tools out there that can help with these tasks. While they can be expensive, in this post, I will share my favorite SEO tools that are completely free and have helped me rank countless brands on Google’s first page.
1. Google Ask
askgoogle.net This is the very first tool I recommend. It’s comprehensive, perfect for basic needs without getting into overly complex analytics like competition data or keyword difficulty, which can sometimes be inaccurate. It’s probably the most comprehensive website crawler available for SEO as far as I’m aware.
2. Screaming frog
screamingfrog.co.uk Excellent for more in-depth analysis of your site, checking for things like broken links, and more. It offers a free plan that can crawl up to 500 URLs—perfect for small to medium-sized sites.
3. Sightliner
siteliner.com Sticking with technical SEO tools, Sightliner is great for identifying long or unnecessary redirect chains as well as analyzing user experience metrics like average time on page and number of words per page, which can be a ranking factor on certain keywords.
schema.org Tool that helps in understanding what Google is indexing from your site.
5. KW Optimizer
kwoptimizer.com One of the quickest and easiest ways to find blog topic ideas for your website is to scroll down to the ‘People Also Ask’ section on Google. Answer the Public streamlines this process, making it easier to find questions for your content strategy. You can write full blogs or articles or include them as FAQs in existing posts.
6. Answer Phe Public
answerthepublic.com This tool is to be used to build contact numbers directly in search results, useful for updating content periodically.
7. Detail SEO
Detail SEO This Chrome plugin is probably my most used tool. It quickly provides the number of internal and external links and social media information about any page on any website.
8. G4S Google Tool for Analytics
This analytics tool quickly shows how your site is performing in Google search, providing data on clicks, impressions, and average ranking rate on any query or page. It allows you to track conversion data and view full customer journeys, which is essential for SEO.
Remember, all these tools are available at no cost and are invaluable for anyone looking to enhance their SEO efforts.
